JSU Obtains Excellent Results in the National University Physics Experiment Competition with 2 First Prizes And 3 Second Prizes
December 12, 2023

Hosted by Chongqing University, the 9th National University Physics Experiment Competition (Innovation Competition) was successfully concluded from Nov. 23 to 26. Jiangsu University (JSU) organized 5 teams to participate in the competition, won 2 first prizes, 3 second prizes, and once again won the Excellent Organization Award.

Regarded as one of the most challenging and influential physics competitions in China at present, the National University Physics Experiment Competition has increased the number of tracks (Innovation Competition) since the sixth session in 2020, covering such three categories as proposition-based innovative works, self-selected innovative works, and university students' physics experiment lecture competitions. A total of 2,340 teams from 603 universities across the country participated in the competition this year, with the number of participating schools, teams and participants hitting a record high.
The teams was organized by the Physics Experiment Center of the School of Physics and Electronic Engineering of JSU. During the preparation period, the teachers and students of each team advanced collaboratively to tackle challenges with a clear division of work. They carefully benchmarked the requirements of the final in the limited spare time. To get well prepared, they strictly controlled the details of the physical concepts, experimental errors and so on while practicing over and over again. In the three-day final, our contestants were calm to react and played well, showing solid theoretical skills, innovative experimental design, the ability to apply professional knowledge to solve practical problems as well as the team spirit of sincere collaboration. The results of the JSU's continuous efforts to promote the reform of experimental teaching, and strive to improve the quality of physics experimental teaching and the quality of training of high-quality and innovative talents can also be recognized during the process.

Ranking in the forefront of the province, JSU has won a full quota of awards with five teams in the competition for three consecutive years, including 7 First Prizes, 7 Second Prizes and 1 Third Prize. In the future, the School of Physics and Electronic Engineering of JSU will continue to deepen the reform of physics experiment teaching, constantly improve the quality of physics experiment teaching, and strengthen the training of college students' sense of innovation and other aspects of comprehensive quality, thus helping the top innovative talent cultivation.
