Recently, Ministry of Education (MOE) issued the list of the National First-Class Undergraduate Courses of the second batch. 15 courses of Jiangsu University (JSU) are certified as first-class courses, including 3 online courses, 7 offline courses, 2 online and offline hybrid courses, 1 social practice course, and 2 virtual simulation experimental teaching first-class courses. Now JSU has 33 national first-class undergraduate courses in two batches, ranking third among high-level universities in Jiangsu Province in terms of the total number of certified courses.
Since the MOE started the certification of first-class undergraduate courses in October, 2019, JSU has attached great importance to moral education of the students, and has taken the construction of first-class undergraduate courses as an important starting point. JSU aims to improve the quality of undergraduate teaching and actively promote the curriculum in accordance with the requirements of being high-level, innovative and challenging, in terms of reform and innovation of curriculum ideology, teaching objectives, teaching content and teaching methods, process assessment and evaluation, teaching team and other aspects. Efforts have been made to improve the quality of curriculum and a relatively perfect four-level first-class curriculum system at the national, provincial, university and college levels has been constructed.
In the future, JSU will continue to do a good job in the construction and cultivation of first-class courses, constantly enrich high-quality course resources, and play a better role in comprehensively improving the quality of independent talent training and building a high-level and first-class university.
