JSU Held the Cooperation Meeting with Pakistan

On Feb. 3, the cooperation promotion meeting between Jiangsu University (JSU) and Pakistan was held online. President Prof. Yan Xiaohong, Associated Prof. Huang Ting, Director of International Office, Prof. Pan Jianfeng, Dean of Overseas Education College of JSU, Chairman Prof. Atta-ur-Rahman, Project Advisors Mr. Mugaheid and Ms. Sanya Khan from Prime Minister’s Task Force on Science and Technology, Pakistan attended the meeting.

At the meeting, the Pakistani side introduced the development of the Center of Excellence in “Agriculture Food Technologies” of Pak-Austria Fachhochschule: Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology (PAF-IAST) jointly established by the two sides and other cooperation plans. Chairman Atta-ur-Rahman pointed out that the Pakistani government has already funded a new university construction project in Sialkot City, Punjab Province. And for this to happen, he expects to cooperate with JSU for talent cultivation, and transformation of scientific and technological achievements in agriculture and food biotechnology.

Prof. Yan Xiaohong fully affirmed the exchanges and cooperation between JSU and PAF-IAST, and looked forward to further deepening cooperation in the fields of scientific research platform construction, teacher training and student exchanges, so as to build the bilateral effort into a model of international cooperation in education under the Belt and Road Initiative. Prof. Yan Xiaohong pointed out that JSU stands ready to cooperate with the Pakistani government to give full play to the role of JSU in the planned university in Sialkot with JSU’s strength of agriculture-related disciplines, thus contributing to Sino-Pakistani friendship.
