JSU was Elected as the Co-Chair Unit from China of Alliance of China-Thailand Universities

From Oct. 19th to 22nd, the Online Forum on Education Cooperation in South & Southeast Asia and Inaugural Conference of Alliance of China-Thailand Universities (ACTU) was held in Kunming, Yunnan. Prof. Yan Xiaohong, President of Jiangsu University (JSU), Prof. Zhao Yutao, Vice President of JSU attended the forum, and JSU was elected as the Co-Chair Unit from China.

The forum was hosted by the Yunnan Education Department and undertaken by 11 units such as Yunnan University and Kunming University of Science and Technology, which was held through the combination of "Online + offline". The Forum made full use of Yunnan's geographical advantages of opening up to South Asia and Southeast Asia to carry out international educational exchanges and cooperation, explore the best modes and ways of educational cooperation in the special period of fighting against COVID-19 globally, and promote bilateral and multilateral practical cooperation.

At the Inaugural Conference of Alliance of China-Thailand Universities, the conference discussed and adopted the Charter of ACTU, and recommended the Joint Chair (two from each of the two sides), the Vice Chair, and the Board Members. Prof. Yan Xiaohong was elected as Co-Chair from China, and Prof. Ponchai Monkhuvani, President of Siam University of Thailand, was elected as the Chairman of Thailand-side. Prof. Zhao Yutao delivered a speech on behalf of the Co-Chair Unit from China and a keynote speech on Practice and Conception of Sino-Thai Higher Education Cooperation under the Vision of the “Belt and Road” Initiative.
