On July 22, Ma Xin, the Vice Governor of Jiangsu Province, came to Jiangsu University (JSU) for special research and guidance. Xu Guanghui, Deputy Secretary-General of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government, Ge Daokai, Director of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, Shen Yi, Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Ma Minglong, Secretary of the Zhenjiang Municipal Party Committee, and Pan Zaoyun, Deputy Mayor, accompanied the visiting. Prof. Yuan Shouqi, Chair of University Committee of JSU, Prof. Yan Xiaohong, President of JSU, introduced to Ma Xin and his entourage about the talent cultivation in agricultural machinery, scientific research, and social services of the JSU.

At the meeting, Prof. Yuan Shouqi said that JSU would thoroughly implement the principles of important instructions by General Secretary Xi Jinping, vigorously promote the comprehensive reform of ”three all-round education”, cultivate innovative talents who understand agriculture, love agriculture, and strive to create a cluster of world-class agricultural equipment disciplines, accelerate the development of the National Key Laboratory of modern agricultural equipment and technology, the collaborative innovation center, agricultural equipment and agricultural science and technology innovation alliance and other high-end platforms. These achievements will make an irreplaceable greater contribution to the China’s agricultural and rural modernization and the “two centenary” goals.

Prof. Yan Xiaohong reported on JSU’s efforts to promote agriculture in schooling over 60 years, as well as the new actions and practices in recent years. He said that JSU would take the opportunity to implement the important instructions by General Secretary Xi Jinping, to stay true to JSU’s mission of strengthening promoting agriculture, fully carry forward the characteristic advantages of “highlighting agriculture in engineering, supporting agriculture with engineering”, and strive to build a first-class university with characteristics of agricultural machinery that people are satisfied with.

Before the meeting, Ma Xin visited National Research Center of Fluid Machinery Engineering and Technology and the Key Laboratory of Modern Agricultural Equipment and Technology of the Ministry of Education to conduct on-site inspections to gain an in-depth understanding of the development of agricultural engineering and its effectiveness of serving the industry.
