On March 7, 2020, Jiangsu University organized the COVID-19 emergency response drill. Prof. Yuan Shouqi, Chair of JSU Committee, Prof. Yan Xiaohong, President of JSU acted as the chief commander and deputy commander. Leaders of COVID-19 Prevention and Control working teams and staff of related departments participated the drill. The drill was guided by Zhenjiang Municipal Prevention and Control Headquarters, Health Commission of Jingkou District, Jingkou District Center of Disease Control and Prevention. The head of Affiliated Hospital, all staff of the University Staff Hospital, management team of Dormitory Service Center and representatives of relevant departments observed the drill on the ground.
This drill simulated the whole process flow after JSU's COVID-19 prevention and control working teams found a student at dormitory who felt weak and got a fever with self-measured armpit temperature of 38.2 ℃.
The whole drilling work was tense and orderly. The process was serious and all links cooperated closely, which had achieved good results. After the drill, Prof. Yuan Shouqi and Prof. Yan Xiaohong, held a discussion and summary meeting on the spot, put forward suggestions of improvements for the deficiencies occurring in the drill, and required relevant COVID-19 Prevention and Control teams of to carefully comb and summarize the problems occurring in the drill again, so as to further improve the epidemic prevention and control work of JSU.
Through the emergency response drill, JSU further standardized the emergency reporting and handling procedures, improved the prevention awareness and emergency response capacity, and comprehensively tested JSU's emergency command, organization and coordination capabilities.
