On Dec. 1, 2019, the 5th National Water-Saving Irrigation Equipment and Technology Strategy Seminar was grandly held in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu. More than 150 well-known experts, researchers and representatives of major industry companies in water-saving irrigation equipment and technology field participated in the seminar. This seminar is organized by Irrigation Machinery Branch of Chinese Society for Agricultural Machinery, and Irrigation & Drainage Committee of China Association for Machinery Standardization; and hosted by Research Center of Fluid Machinery Engineering and Technology of Jiangsu University (JSU).
The theme is to discuss the current status, problems, future trends and development suggestions in key areas for water-saving irrigation equipment industry. At the opening ceremony, Prof. Yuan Shouqi, Chair of JSU Committee, delivered a welcome speech on behalf of JSU, which briefly introduced the development of our university and the fluid machinery industry. Mr. Li Yangbin, President of China Irrigation Association, introduced current status of water-saving irrigation in China, as well as the opportunities and challenges faced by rural revitalization and agricultural modernization. The opening ceremony was presided over by Prof. Li Hong, Director of Science and Technology Office of JSU.
This seminar invited a group of top experts from universities, institutes and companies to attend, such as Academician Kang Shaozhong, China Agricultural University, Prof. Shi Weidong, President of Nantong University, Prof. Li Rennian, Vice President of Lanzhou University of Technology, Prof. Liu Xiaobing, Vice President of Xihua University. It not only exchanged the latest research results in depth, but also discussed topics such as equipment design and produce, key common technology innovation, and industrial development in the field of water-saving irrigation in the country. The successful holding of the seminar will have a profound impact on promoting collaborative innovation of industry-university-research in the field of water-saving equipment in China, and the development of intensive and large-scale agricultural.
