Vice President of Macquarie University Visited JSU

On June 12, Prof. Sean Brawley, Vice President and his colleagues of Macquarie University, Australia made a visit to Jiangsu University (JSU). Prof. Zhao Yutao, Vice President of JSU, met the guests. Relevant officials from the International Office, the Academic Department and the School of Finance and Economics attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Vice President Prof. Zhao Yutao extended a warm welcome to Vice President Sean Brawley and his delegation. He introduced the history, discipline characteristics and strategic internationalization goals of JSU. He pointed out that Vice President Sean’s visit opened a new chapter in the cooperation between the two universities since our two universities would hold the first joint undergraduate program in finance this year. Additionally, Vice President Zhao Yutao expressed the hope that the two universities will further expand the field of exchange on this basis and explore cooperation in joint scientific research to achieve complementary advantages. Vice President Sean Brawley expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the warm reception and introduced the general situation and subject features of Macquarie University. He outlined a few cooperative plans by mentioning that the two universities have initiated a joint undergraduate program in finance, which will promote in-depth cooperation in student exchanges, academic visiting and scientific research cooperation.

After the meeting, the Australian delegation visited the university museum Prof. Tracy Rushmer, Deputy Dean of the Graduate School of Macquarie University, gave an important lecture on how to apply for doctoral study in Australia for post-graduates.
