JSU held the 8th Creative Engineering Design Competition

From December 14th to 17th, the 8th Creative Engineering Design Competition and the International Conference on Innovative Application Research Education, hosted by the International Office, Industrial Center and Overseas Education College, was held in Jiangsu University. The competition focused on intelligent, innovative design in the fields of machinery, electronics, and computers. More than 170 teachers and students of15 universities from China, Japan, and Korea displayed 47 innovative works in the competition.

On the morning of the 15th, the opening ceremony was held in Conference Center. Vice President Prof. Chen Hong attended the opening ceremony and delivered opening speech, briefly introduced the development of JSU and the achievements of internationalization. Prof. Pan Tianhong and Prof. Jiang Zhongwei (Yamaguchi University, Japan) also delivered warm speeches.

After the opening ceremony, the competition for innovative design works began. 47 innovative works were displayed on the first floor of the Industrial Center. 15 teams from China, Japan and Korea presented their PPT reports, and conducted live demonstrations and debates. Finally, 31 works were rewarded: 1 special prize, 2 gold medals, 8 silver medals and 20 bronze medals. Jiangsu university students won 2 silver medals and 3 bronze medals.

The SPIED project was jointly initiated by Jiangsu University and Yamaguchi University, Japan. It is mainly for freshmen undergraduate students majoring in mechanical, electromechanical, measurement and control, optical information, electrical engineering, electronic engineering, computer science and other majors in China, Japan and Korea. Transnational joint international innovation teaching practice, CEDC and ICIARE are summaries and continuations of the SPIED project, usually held in December.
