On November 30th, 2018 “The Belt and Road” Forum for International Cooperation and Development on Agricultural Modernization was held at Jiangsu University. With the theme of “Ideology and Model Innovation”, the forum invites representatives of the national agricultural departments along “The Belt and Road”, international organizations and think tanks, China's agricultural equipment industry enterprises, universities and research institutions to jointly explore the international cooperation and development of “The Belt and Road” agricultural modernization. The forum was jointly organized by Jiangsu University and China Association for the Promotion of International Agricultural Cooperation.

Domestic and foreign experts, relevant universities, business representatives, leaders of JSU, representatives of various relevant departments and colleges attended the opening ceremony.

At the forum, the experts introduced the situation and prospects of China's agricultural foreign investment cooperation, the potential for agriculture to go out globally, the environment and the risks, the key points and challenges of “The Belt and Road” agricultural modernization and equipment cooperation. Representatives from enterprises shared the status quo and future development of China's agricultural machinery market in Africa of “The Belt and Road” promotion experience of water-saving irrigation technology. Representatives from Russia, Botswana and Nigeria exchanged the status quo of agricultural development in their countries and the prospect of international cooperation. The representative of FAO introduced the agricultural development potential and international cooperation path of the African continent.

During the forum, more than ten cooperation agreements, such as the African Union, the China-Arab Sates Technology Transfer Center, Jiangsu University Tripartite Technology Transfer, and the Talent Training Cooperation MOU were signed. In addition, the Agricultural Mechanization Association of Jiangsu University for Overseas Students also reported to the agricultural equipment enterprises on “The Belt and Road” national agricultural modernization research work, which provided important information for China's agricultural equipment enterprises to “go global”. At the closing ceremony, Chinese and overseas students presented a wonderful feast of Chinese and foreign fusion of art and culture.
