On March 17th, Prakash Gupta, Consul General of India in Shanghai, visited JSU and attended the opening ceremony of the India Film Week in Zhenjiang City. Prof. Yan Xiaohong, the President of JSU, delivered a speech at the ceremony. Prof. Chen Long, the Vice President of JSU, welcomed the guests and signed a friendly cooperation agreement about the students exchange with Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS). Zhang Zhonghua (Deputy Director of Zhenjiang Foreign Affairs Office), along with the leaders of the International Office and Overseas Education College of JSU also participated in the event.
JSU has a good cooperative relationship with several Indian universities. Such as Flame University, Kaziranga University, Gujarat Technological University, Jadavpur University and Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology. Currently, there are more than 200 Indian students studying at JSU.
The Indian Film Week,an important part of the Indian Culture Week in Zhenjiang City, is a festival organized by the Indian Consulate General in Shanghai and the People's Government of Zhenjiang City. It includes the Indian Art Exhibition, the Indian Food Festival, the Indian Film Week, the Indian Business Forum, the Indian Dance Party and other colorful cultural exchange acctivities between China and India. During the Film Week, the audience enjoyed many classical Indian films, such as "Oh My God", "Queen", "Taare Zameen Par", "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag", "Mary Kom", and"English Vinglish".
