Recently, JSU has for the first time broken into the 2016 Asian University Rankings and World University Rankings which was released by Times Higher Education. In the 2016 Asian University Rankings, JSU ranks the 195^thin Asia and 37^thin Chinese mainland universities. In the 2016 World University Rankings, JSU ranks the 864^thin the world, and 43^rdin Chinese mainland universities.

Along with Academic Ranking of World Universities, U.S. news World University Rankings（US News）and QS World University Rankings, Times Higher Education World University Rankings has been nowadays one of the top 4 most influential rankings. It sets teaching, scientific research, reference, achievement transformation and more than 10 indexes in 5 fields of internationalization. The Asian University Rankings and World University Rankings focus on different criteria. Last year, JSU ranked the 181^stin Times Higher Education BRIC countries and emerging economies University Rankings. This year, JSU has for the first time broken into Asian University Rankings and World University Rankings. JSU is on track to become a distinctive and internationalized research university in the shortest possible time with greater focus on the quality of education, strong innovative leadership and a unified collaborative university culture.
