Vice President Chen Long Visits Universities in USA and Canada

From June 15 to 22, 2016, Vice President Chen Long led a delegation to visit Mississippi State University (MSU), University of Michigan (UM), University of Windsor (UW), and Wilfrid Laurier University (WLU).
At MSU, Vice President Chen Long, MU’s Vice Presidents David R. Shaw and Gregory A. Bohach and other representatives discussed about the cooperation in the areas of Agriculture, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Computer Science, Biomass Energy and co-establishment of Confucius Institute. The delegation also visited the laboratories and met more than 30 Chinese students as well.
At UM, our delegation met Prof. Huei Peng, Director of Mobility Transformation Center and shared ideas of intelligent automobiles vehicle and discussed the cooperation on joint program for graduate students and exchange program for young scholars.
At UW, the delegation met UW’s Vice President, Prof. K.W. Michael Siu, fellow of the Royal Academy of Sciences. The two sides had an in-depth discussion and reached a consensus on scientific research cooperation, joint graduate training and young teachers’ exchange. After the meeting, the delegation visited several Engineering Laboratories and new energy saving and environmental protection building as well.
At WLU, the delegation met Prof. Ben Yang, Director of Internation Office, and Prof. Kenneth Mlaly, Dean of Facuty of Science. Two universities discussed about the details of 2+2 joint program of dual bachelor degree on computer science and technology.
