JSU Elected Vice Chairman Unit of SAE-China

JSU was elected as the Vice Chairman Institute of The Society of Automotive Engineers of China (SAE-China), and Vice President Professor Chen Long was elected Vice Chairman.

The Society of Automotive Engineers of China (SAE-China) held its 4th Session of the 8th Council Meeting and the 5th Session of the 8th Standing Council Meeting on October 26th in Kunshan. 201 directors attended the meeting. The council elected Jiangsu University (JSU) Vice Chairman Unit of SAE-China, and Vice President Professor Chen Long was elected Vice Chairman.

Such high recognition from industry peers reflects the strong academic performance and rich talent cultivation of the vehicle engineering program at JSU and opens doors for further cooperation with industry leaders.

With nearly 60 years of history, JUS’s vehicle engineering program has produced many great innovators in the field. In 1996 the school was the fourth in the country given power to grant doctorates in vehicle engineering. The program has produced more than 6,000 undergraduate students, 1,600 postgraduates and 150 doctors, who have gone on to spread throughout the industry engineering values nurtured at JSU.

During the 12th five-year period, the vehicle engineering discipline made a considerable development. It established a full-time automotive engineering research institute, got one teacher approved as Distinguished Teacher in Jiangsu province, succeeded in becoming the National & Local Joint Engineering Research Center, got the award of Priority Discipline for its project of New Energy Vehicles. Its Vehicle Engineering was approved as the brand discipline (A degree) in Jiangsu province. It spent more than 200 million in scientific research funds, and won two provincial science and technology progress awards. What’s more, the vehicle engineering discipline has strong independent research and development in the fields of new energy vehicle system integration technology, electric power steering control, braking energy recovery control, which have formed strong discipline characteristic.
