ICPF 2015, the 7th International Conference of Pumps and Fans, organized and hosted by Zhejiang University, Tsinghua University, and Jiangsu University, was convened the other day in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province.

The conference is important for academic communication in the field of Pumps and Fans and highlights the presentation of research findings. More than 180 people attended the meeting including over 40 experts and scholars from foreign countries such as the United States, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and South Korea. 122 theses were received. Professor Yuan Shouqi, Chairman of the organizing committee and President of Jiangsu University, attended the conference along with 24 teachers and postgraduates from Research Center of Fluid Machinery and Engineering and the School of Energy and Power Engineering.

At the conference 14 lectures were given by local and internationally known experts in the field of Pumps and Fans. Professor Yuan Shouqi of Jiangsu University gave a lecture titled “Research on Unsteady Flow Centrifugal Pumps.” Researcher Li hong was invited as host and another three teachers including researcher Yuan Jian-ping as the session chair. Our teachers and postgraduates had opportunities for extensive communication with domestic and foreign experts in pump design and numerical simulation, expanding international cooperation and furthering ties with other institutions.

The conference promoted development of research on fluid machinery and fostered international cooperation and communication.

During this conference Jiangsu University was chosen as the host of the 8th International Conference on Pumps and Fans in 2018.
