Foreign Teachers Visit Zhenjiang Vinegar Culture Museum

Foreign teachers from Jiangsu University visited the Zhenjiang, China Vinegar Heritage Museum on November 14th, furthering their understanding of the history and culture of Zhenjiang.
Foreign teachers from JSU visited the Zhenjiang Vinegar Heritage Museum on November 14th. International Office organized the outing to deepen the teachers' understanding of local culture and enhance their sense of belonging at JSU.
The tour passed through five exhibitions of the museum including the Vinegar History Exhibition, the Cultural Corridor, the Old Workshop, the Gallery and the Experience Hall.
A reproduction of the gate building of the 1970s era Hengshun Vinegar and Sauce Factory began the factories historical experience. In the Republic of China period Old Workshop the process of making vinegar grains and brewing vinegar was displayed. In the Experience Hall fruit and aromatic vinegar were available for tasting. The use of vinegar as a condiment and for its medicinal value was also explained.
During their visit the foreign teachers had a chance to understand, interpret and taste vinegar culture. They also gained a new understanding of the food history and culture of Zhenjiang.
The China Zhenjiang Vinegar Heritage Museum is one of the "Eleventh Five-Year" 100 key cultural projects in Jiangsu Province and was included in the "Demonstrate spot of experiencing the theme of Shanghai Expo in Yangtze River Delta”. The exhibition is the first thematic pavilion with the function of cultural heritage protection, science education and industrial tourism.
