Days ago, Prof. Babatunde A.Ogunnaike, Academician of the National Academy of Engineering and Dean of the Department of Chemical Engineering of the University of Delaware and 2 of his colleagues visited Jiangsu University and they were interviewed by Prof. Cheng Xiaonong, Vice President of Jiangsu University, who briefed the recent development of Jiangsu University to the visitors.

During his visit, Prof. B. A. Ogunnaike gave a lecture entitled “Design, Development and Implementation of an Alternative Structure for Next Generation Regulatory Controllers”. After delivering the lecture, Prof. B. A. Ogunnaike went into further talks and preliminary agreement with Mr. Li Zhongxing, Director of the International Office on cooperation in joint cultivation of undergraduates (Excellent Engineer), the exchange undergraduates and graduates program, further education abroad of youth teachers, etc. The lecture, presided over by Prof. Liu Guohai, Dean of the School of Electrical & Information Engineering, was attended by faculties and students from the School of Electrical & Information Engineering, the School of Automotive & Traffic Engineering, and the School of Mechanical Engineering.

As a distinguished institution of higher learning in the American East, the University of Delaware is ranked among the best American research colleges and universities in chemical engineering, material science, biomedicine, etc. and has had all-round cooperative relations with DuPont. Prof. B. A. Ogunnaike’s main research interest is system design and analysis and parameter identification and predicative control of precision model in process control. In this field, he has published more than 70 papers and 4 widely used monographs and textbooks. He has won quite a few awards for education and scientific research in America and became an academician of the National Academy of Engineering in 2009.
