July 4, Associate Professor Caisheng Wang at Wayne State University of the United States visited Jiangsu University and gave a lecture entitled “Development of renewable energy and sustainable use of energy”. The lecture, presided over by Prof. Jiang Haobin, Dean of the School of Automotive & Traffic Engineering, was attended by more than 100 faculties and students from the School of Automotive & Traffic Engineering and the School of Electrical & Information Engineering.
In his lecture, Dr. Wang elaborated, based on his research project at the WSU on smart grid and electric vehicle, on such issues as distributed network voltage management of PV power generation with high penetration, power system voltage stability analysis, the battery SOC estimation and load-management-based emissions and suggested measures to meet such challenges as environmental deterioration and shortage of energy. Then Dr. Wang patiently answered questions raised by faculties and students present at his lecture.
Dr. Wang’s main research interests are power system modeling and analysis, distributed power generation, renewable and clean energy and power generation, smart grid, high voltage engineering, online monitoring and diagnosis of power equipment, etc. He is now Associate Professor (tenured professor) at the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering. Mr. Wang once won such prizes as Excellent Teaching Award of the Division of Engineering and Technology of the WSU and Honorary Citizen of the City of Boltzmann, Montana. His name can be found in American Who Is Who (Marquis 2010 version).
