March 5, Professor and PhD Supervisor Zhang Linsheng at School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Osaka Prefecture University, Japan gave a lecture entitled “Strategies for the Chinese Learners of Japanese” to professors and students in the 1st Report Hall of the International Conference Center of Jiangsu University.

Professor Zhang Linsheng expounded in plain words on effective learning strategies for undergraduate learners of Japanese, basing his points of view on the basic ideas of international scholars on interlanguage in the circle of second language acquisition, and the research achievements in the studies on the phenomenon of “negative transfer” of the Chinese language made by “Research Association for Teaching Japanese to Learners with Chinese Background”. After his lecture, Professor Zhang answered the questions raised by the audience present.

Professor Zhang Linsheng is currently serving as PhD Supervisor at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences of Osaka Prefecture University in the studies on Japanese language education to learners speaking Chinese as a native language, cross-cultural communication between Japan and China, contrastive linguistics, etc. He has published 9 monographs and translations and more 70 articles in noted periodicals both in Japan and abroad.
