Prof. Mei Qiang Visited Austria and Italy

Oct. 28th toNov.3rd, Prof. Mei Qiang, vice President led a delegation to Austria and Italy. The delegation visited the University of Graz (UG) and The Confucius Institute(Austria), Technical University of Graz (Austria), University of Padova ( Italy) as well as the small and medium-sized enterprises government agency (Austria), and creative industry center(Austria). The delegation reached agreements with the relative universities on cooperative education of PhD students and cooperative scientific researches in the fields including small and medium-sized enterprise studies, fluid machinery and automotive engineering, and etc.

At the University of Graz, the delegation was received by Mr. Riedler, the vice rector. The two sides overviewed the outstanding achievements of the cooperation between JU and UG, and had a deep discussion on the cooperative education program , scientific research, exchange of teachers and students and MBA cooperation. In the Confucius Institute of UG, the delegation listened to the work report in 2013. The Chinese Dean, Zhang Wenli gave the report on cultural propaganda, comparative strategy, Confucius courses and cooperation platform.

At the Technical University of Graz, Prof. Bischof, Vice President and the delegation detailed the further development of the cooperative research (in pump, automotive engineering ). The delegation also visited the Hydraulic Fluid Machinery Research Institute, Virtual Vehicle Research Institute and Institute of Water Conservancy Projects and Water Management. At the University of Padova, Italy, an agreement was reached on the program of cooperative education of PhD students. The constructive proposals on the specific cooperation in the management science by two sides were made.

The delegation also established the contact for the potential cooperation with universities, governments and industry between JU and the small and medium-sized enterprises government agency and the creative industry center in Austria.

The visits deepened JU’s connections to sister-schools, boosted the cooperative education projects and branched out its international cooperation and communication.
