During the summer vacation, the 11th INTECOL Congress, Ecology: Into the next 100 years was held in London, the UK, attended by more than 2000 delegates from all over the world. The Congress hosted 11 congressional reports, and 100 seminars, forums and symposiums. Scholars made more than 1000 oral presentations and issued over 600 theme posters. Prof. Du Daolin from the School of the Environment & Safety Engineering of Jiangsu University attended the Congress and made the thematic report titled “Local adaptation and phenotypic plasticity both occurred in Wedelia trilobata invasion across a tropical island”, as a result demonstrating the research progress and achievement of Jiangsu University in this area and aroused the great interest of the participants of the Congress.
The INTECOL Congress held every 4 years is on the top list of international conferences in the field of ecological studies. The Congress plays an important role in reporting the academic achievements in ecological studies, discussing the hot ecological issues, and fixing the development orientation of this discipline. The 12th INTECOL Congress scheduled August, 2017 in Beijing will be hosted by the Ecological Society of China. Countries that have hosted the Congress include Britain, Australia, Canada, Korea and Italy.
