On June 5, the ceremony of appointing Shi Yongcheng from Kansas State University a part-time professor of Jiangsu University was held in the No. 3 lecture hall of the Conference Center. At the ceremony, vice president Chen Long granted professor Shi a letter of appointment and pinned a university emblem for him. After the ceremony, professor Shi made a lecture about the recent advances in resistant starch and slowly digestible starch. Professor Shi ,a world famous expert in carbohydrate, has long been engaged in the basic research and product development of starch. In recent 5 years, he has got financial aid of more than 4 million US dollars, 15 American issued patents and published 50 academic papers. He ever won Award for Innovation of Food Additives and American Award for Industrial Achievements.
