Visit by Delegation from Global Education Consortium

Dr. Hsieh George, Chairman of Global Education Consortium (GEC) and President of Northwestern Polytechnic University (NPU) visited our University with the delegation of six members May 30th, accompanied by ZHANG Zhonghua, Deputy Director of Foreign Affairs Office of Zhenjiang Municipal People’s Government. Prof. CHEN Long, Vice President, received the delegation.

After a warm welcome to the delegation, Prof. CHEN Long gave the delegates a brief introduction of JU’s schooling history and features, emphasizing the school’s advantages in such academic fields as agricultural machinery, fluid machinery, mechanical engineering, material science and engineering, vehicle engineering, management of large-and-medium-sized enterprises and laboratory medicine. He also highlighted JU’s focus on internationalization in construction of teaching team, talent cultivation and scientific researches. Dr. Hsieh George introduced NPU’s mission oriented talents cultivation for Silicon Valley and its successful experience. After that, both parties had a deep and lively discussion on the cultivation of innovative talents which drew mutual concerns, wishing that practical cooperation would be conducted between both parties in the future in the fields of academic exchanges and personnel training. Meanwhile, both parties agreed to explore the potential of establishing collaborative relationships between JU and universities under GEC.

NPU is a public university established in 1984 in Silicon Valley, USA. Dr. Hsieh George is a famous American educationist, social psychologist and behaviorist with Chinese origin. After taking the post of NPU’s President, he has been engaged in the Silicon Valley’s education and scientific development. Up until now, NPU has developed into an important university that cultivates globally high-tech talents and senior managerial staff for Silicon Valley.
