On July 24, a delegation from the Republic of the Congo (Brazzaville) Diplomatic Etiquette and Protocol Experience Exchange Seminar visited Jiangsu University (JSU). The delegation was led by Ms. Babola, Director-General of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Congo (Brazzaville). Officials from China Foreign Affairs University, the Foreign Affairs Office of Jiangsu Province and the Foreign Affairs Office of Zhenjiang Municipality accompanied the delegation.

Li Hongbo, Secretary of the CPC JSU Committee, met with the delegation, extended a warm welcome and held friendly talks. The two sides exchanged views on deepening inter-university exchanges and advancing China-Congo educational cooperation. They agreed to expand areas of cooperation, improve the quality and effectiveness of cooperation, and continue to promote deeper and more substantive educational exchanges between JSU and the Republic of the Congo (Brazzaville).
During the visit, the delegation toured the China-Bosnia and Herzegovina “Belt and Road” Joint Laboratory for Smart Agricultural Technology and Equipment, the School of Intelligent Science and Engineering, the Research Center of Fluid Machinery Engineering and Technology, and laboratories of the Automotive Engineering Research Institute of JSU. At each research platform, delegation members were briefed on discipline development, research breakthroughs, technology transfer and international cooperation, gaining an in-depth understanding of the university’s technological research and its practical application in fields such as smart agriculture, intelligent equipment, fluid machinery and new energy vehicles. The delegation spoke highly of JSU’s achievements in applying its disciplinary strengths to practical cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, and looked forward to more practical cooperation between China and the Republic of the Congo (Brazzaville) in these fields.

The two sides then held an exchange meeting. Delegation members presented an overview of the country’s economic and social development, with a focus on successful cases of China-Congo cooperation. Cui Yong, Director of the International Office of JSU, introduced the university’s international exchange and cooperation, highlighting its cooperation with African countries in fields such as agricultural mechanization and engineering machinery, as well as its deep involvement in agricultural sustainable development projects carried out by international organizations including the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP). Congolese students at JSU shared their campus experiences and academic progress in majors such as mechanical engineering, medicine and pharmacy. Ms. Babola noted that the three-week study visit had given the delegation a first-hand understanding of China’s development and of the Belt and Road Initiative. She spoke highly of JSU’s work in training African students and in international educational cooperation, and looked forward to deeper practical cooperation in talent cultivation, research and academic exchange.
JSU will build on this exchange to deepen educational cooperation and people-to-people and cultural exchanges with the Republic of the Congo (Brazzaville).
