People’s Daily Features Egyptian PhD Student at JSU

On August 17, China’s People’s Daily published a feature titled “Eman Yasser, an Egyptian International Student: ‘The Academic Atmosphere Here Nurtures Me’,” telling the research story of Eman Yasser, an Egyptian doctoral student at the National Research Center of Pumps of Jiangsu University (JSU).


Eman Yasser graduated from Alexandria University in Egypt and came to JSU for a master’s degree in Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics. She is now pursuing her doctorate, focusing on the wear mechanisms of centrifugal pumps and their prevention and control. During her time at JSU, she worked with faculty members and fellow students in her research group on several hundred repeated experiments. Their work has provided strong support for the development of key equipment for heavy oil extraction, and the results have been applied in projects of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC). She has published six high-quality papers as first author in leading international journals, and won the Special Prize at the 1st Jiangsu Foreign Postgraduate Research Symposium, hosted by JSU.
