On April 28, World Group · 2026 Leisi International Conference was held at Jiangsu University (JSU). The conference was co-sponsored by the Chinese Society for Agricultural Machinery, China Association of Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers, Chinese Society for Agricultural Engineering, China Agricultural Mechanization Association, China Agricultural Machinery Distribution Association and JSU. Over 460 experts and scholars from both China and abroad engaged in discussions on cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence and agricultural robotics, new energy agricultural equipment, and agricultural low-altitude technology.

At the opening ceremony, the China-Bosnia and Herzegovina “Belt and Road” Joint Laboratory for Smart Agricultural Technology and Equipment was officially inaugurated. The laboratory is jointly initiated by JSU and the University of East Sarajevo. Meanwhile, JSU together with universities, research institutes, and leading enterprises from Central and Eastern European countries, initiated the establishment of the China-CEEC Industrial Innovation Alliance for Smart Agricultural Technology and Equipment. During the conference, several industry-academia-research collaborations were reached. JSU signed university-enterprise cooperation agreements with XCMG Group and Weichai Lovol, a university-local government cooperation agreement with Jianhu County, and a memorandum of understanding with China Telecom on jointly building a Central and Eastern Europe demonstration center. In addition, JSU established research centers with Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. and World Group, formed a joint laboratory with Gure Semiconductor, and cooperated with Doppel Farmer on the development of sprinkler irrigation systems. The conference also launched the “White Paper on the Synergistic Development of the Intelligent Agricultural Machinery Equipment Industry in the Yangtze River Delta.”

To build a hub for agricultural machinery talent cultivation and technological innovation, JSU established the Faculty of Smart Agricultural Engineering this year. Secretary of the CPC JSU Committee Li Hongbo stated that the university will further strengthen its educational feature of “integrating agriculture into engineering and strengthening agriculture through engineering,” making greater contributions to building China into an agricultural powerhouse.
