On April 15, Jiangsu University (JSU) held a virtual meeting with the University of East Sarajevo (UES) in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Vice President Prof. Chen Feng, Director of International Office Cui Yong, Deputy Director of International Office Zou Shijian and foreign teacher of School of Finance & Economics Dragana Ostic from JSU attended the meeting. UES was represented by Vice Rector Marko Gutalj, as well as heads of the Faculty of Philosophy and the Department of Sinology.

Chen Feng noted that JSU has a solid foundation of cooperation with universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the broader Central and Eastern European region, and expressed the willingness to further strengthen cooperation with the UES. Marko Gutalj expressed great anticipation for in-depth cooperation with JSU in areas such as student mobility faculty exchanges and international Chinese language education.

Zou Shijian elaborated the key points for cooperation in international Chinese language education. Representatives from the UES introduced the university's cureent conditions and collaborative plans for international Chinese language education.

Both universities agreed to pursue cooperation in areas including international Chinese language education, scientific research, student mobility and faculty exchanges. They also called on their respective departments to carry out detailed planning and thorough feasibility studies to facilitate the early implementation of cooperation and bring tangible benefits to the faculty and students of both universities.

The University of East Sarajevo (UES), founded in 1992, is a public comprehensive university in Bosnia and Herzegovina with over 15,000 enrolled students. It comprises 17 faculties in the academic areas of engineering, economics, medicine, agriculture, philosophy, law, and the arts. It is the first university in Bosnia and Herzegovina to establish a Department of Sinology.
