From March 4 to 7, President of Jiangsu University (JSU) Zou Xiaobo led a delegation to visit Australia, where they held working meetings with Deakin University and Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, visited Chinese Consulate General in Melbourne, and had cordial meetings with alumni, further deepening the exchanges and cooperation between JSU and high-level universities in Australia.

At Deakin University, the delegation met Acting Vice-Chancellor of Deakin University David Harvill, Executive Dean of Faculty of Science, Engineering and Built Environment Nick Birbillis and Vice President John Moloney. David Harvill spoke highly of the positive progress made by the two universities since the signing of the cooperation agreement in 2018. Zou Xiaobo introduced the latest development and internationalization achievements of JSU. Both parties signed a cooperation agreement on the international undergraduate talent training in majors such as electrical engineering and automation, software engineering, and data computing and application. They also had in-depth discussions on expanding joint student training programs, strengthening mutual visits and exchanges between young teachers, and etc. The delegation visited the research and various educational facilities at Deakin University's Burwood campus in Melbourne, Waurn Ponds campus in Geelong, and Waterfront campus.

The delegation paid a visit to the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Melbourne, where Deputy Consul General Pei Guichun met with the delegation. Zou Xiaobo introduced JSU's achievements in recent years, internationalization strategy, as well as the current status and future plans of cooperation with Deakin University. He hoped that the Consulate General would continue to provide guidance in key areas such as inter-university cooperation between JSU and universities in Victoria. Pei Guichun expressed appreciation for the cooperation between JSU and Deakin University, and stated that the Consulate General would continue to provide support and assistance for the exchange and cooperation between JSU and universities in Victoria.

During the visit, the delegation held cooperation discussions with Vice President of Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University Xinghuo Yu. Both parties expressed that the two universities have a high degree of subject alignment in the field of engineering and great potential for cooperation. They will carry out in-depth cooperation in areas such as joint student training, scientific research, and talent mobility. The delegation also met with representatives of JSU's alumni in Melbourne, hoping that the alumni would play an active role in promoting exchanges and cooperation between JSU and Australian universities.
This visit has further consolidated and deepened the relationship between JSU and our strategic partner in Australia, broadened communication channels, and laid a more solid foundation for future work in talent cultivation, scientific research.
Relevant representatives from International Office, School of Electrical and Information Engineering, School of Computer Science and Communication Engineering, and School of Mathematical Sciences visited as part of the delegation.
