The delegation from the Consulate General of the Republic of Cuba in Shanghai visited JSU

On January 22, H.E. Albert Panton León, the Consul-General of the Republic of Cuba in Shanghai, led a delegation to visited Jiangsu University (JSU). Vice President Chen Hong met with the guests, accompanied by the representatives International Office.


Vice President Chen Hong briefly introduced JSU's history, academic strengths, and international exchange and cooperation, pointing out that JSU has maintained good communication and contact with Latin American countries including Cuba, and has carried out various forms of educational exchanges. She hoped that both parties would take this meeting as an opportunity to further deepen pragmatic cooperation in areas such as talent cultivation, personnel training, scientific research innovation, cultural exchanging, and contribute to the development of education in China and Cuba.

H.E. Albert Panton León expressed his gratitude to JSU for cultivating numerous outstanding talents for Cuba and spoke highly of JSU's educational strength. He stated that the Consulate General will actively play a role as a bridge and bond, promoting closer cooperation between Cuban universities and JSU in advantageous disciplines such as agricultural engineering.

Both parties had an in-depth exchange of views on specific cooperation in the field of higher education such as exchanges of teachers and students, and the construction of scientific research platforms.

During their stay, the delegation also visited JSU History Museum and had a cordial discussion with international students of JSU from Cuba.
