Jiangsu University Forges Comprehensive Partnership with Deakin University

On October 16, Jiangsu University (JSU) and Deakin University, Australia held bilateral activities aimed at deepening mutual exchanges and collaboration. Secretary of the CPC JSU Committee Li Hongbo, and President of Deakin University Prof. Ian Martin, met in Beijing to sign a comprehensive partnership cooperation agreement. Vice Chancellor of Deakin University Prof. John Moloney, Director of Deakin University’s International Office for China Mr. Wang Bingjie and Director of the International Office of JSU Cui Yong, attended the signing ceremony.

The agreement is designed to comprehensively advance in-depth cooperation between the two universities in areas including talent cultivation, academic research, and faculty and student exchanges, with the goal of promoting mutual development. Secretary Li Hongbo emphasized that this signing marks a milestone in bilateral cooperation and expressed his hope for fruitful outcomes in internationalized talent training and scientific research.

During their visit, Vice President of JSU Prof. Cai Yingfeng met with the delegation. She stressed the importance of seizing opportunities for collaboration and ensuring the effective implementation of key projects to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. Representatives from the International Office, Academic Affairs Office, School of Electrical and Information Engineering, School of Computer Science and Communication Engineering, and School of Mathematics and Sciences also attended the meeting.

The delegation toured the School of Electrical and Information Engineering, School of Computer Science and Communication Engineering, and the Cranfield Graduate School of Future Technologies where they gained insights into teaching facilities, experimental conditions, and internationalized education models. They also visited the School of Mechanical Engineering and School of Food and Biological Engineering to observe research platforms and innovative achievements.

Additionally, the delegation explored campus facilities such as the University History Museum, student cafeteria, and faculty apartments, gaining a comprehensive understanding of our university’s academic atmosphere, development history, and campus culture. The delegation spoke highly of our research capabilities, teaching environment, and campus culture.
