Recently, the 24th China University Robot Competition (ROBOTAC) Finals were held in Yantai, China, with 183 robot teams from 71 universities including Beihang University, Xiamen University, Chongqing University, and University of Science and Technology Beijing. Jiangsu University (JSU) participated in the competition for the first time and won 1 first prize and 2 third prizes.

ROBOTAC, as one of the three core events in the national college robot competition system, deeply integrates the fun of sports competitions and the technicality of technology competitions. In 2019, it was included in recognized officially the list of national general university subject competitions. Theming on "the bale fire of Great Wall", the competition is further divided into various challenge competitions and comprehensive competitions’ such as first person perspective competition, quick victory challenge competition, alien foot racing competition, humanoid kung fu combat competition, etc. The competition not only tests the technical abilities of participating teams in robot design, programming control, mechanical manufacturing, and other aspects, but also emphasizes teamwork and on-site adaptability. It provides a comprehensive stage for college students to showcase their innovative thinking and practical abilities.
Mengxi College is responsible for organizing this competition. For the first time, three teams consisting of interdisciplinary undergraduate students from Mengxi College, School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Electrical and Information Engineering, etc. participated in three events: humanoid kung fu combat, bale fire competition (comprehensive competition), and quick victory challenge. With the careful guidance of the supervising teacher and the unremitting efforts of the participating students, JSU have won the first prize (runner up) in the humanoid kung fu combat, the third prize in the bale fire competition, and the quick victory challenge.
