On June 17, U.S. News released the U.S. News & World Report Best Global Universities Rankings for 2025-2026, with a total of 2250 universities from around the world on the list, including 397 universities from Chinese mainland. According to the ranking, Jiangsu University (JSU) ranks 271st place among global universities, 59th place among Asian universities, and 38th place among universities in Chinese mainland.


The main indicators for this year's ranking weights include global research reputation (12.5%), regional research reputation (12.5%), published papers (10%), published books (2.5%), academic conferences (2.5%), standardized citation impact (10%), total citation count (7.5%), number of high-frequency cited literature (in the top 10% of most cited literature) (12.5%), percentage of high-frequency cited literature (in the top 10% of most cited literature) (10%), international cooperation 10%, number of high-frequency cited literature (in the top 1% of most cited literature in their respective fields) (5%), and percentage of high-frequency cited literature (in the top 1% of most cited literature in their respective fields) (5%).
U.S. News also released the 2025-2026 World University Subject Rankings, which are divided into 51 sub disciplines. China has 93 disciplines ranked among the top 5 in the world, and 186 disciplines from 52 universities have entered the top 10 in the world.
JSU has a total of 31 disciplines on the list, ranking 32nd place among Chinese mainland universities in terms of the total number of disciplines on the list. 9 disciplines, including food science and technology, green and sustainable science and technology, environmental engineering, agricultural science, chemical engineering, polymer science, energy and fuel, biotechnology and applied microbiology, and mechanical engineering, have entered the world's top 50, while 14 disciplines have entered the world's top 100. Among them, food science and technology ranks 3rd in the world, green and sustainable science and technology ranks 4th in the world, environmental engineering ranks 8th in the world, and agricultural science ranks 9th in the world.
