From May 18 to 24, President of Jiangsu University (JSU) Prof. Xing Weihong and her delegation accompanied the Jiangsu Education delegation to Malaysia and Cambodia, attending "Jiangsu-Malaysia University Cooperation and Exchange Activity and Study in Jiangsu Exhibition", which was hosted by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education and the Malaysia Education Exchange Association. The visit focuses on three major themes: "international cooperation in disciplines and industries", "cultivation and introduction of high-level talents", and "university-enterprise cooperation in going global and building student bases", promoting the implementation of JSU's open education advancement initiative and injecting new momentum into Jiangsu Provincial education opening up to the outside world.


On May 18, the Jiangsu Education Delegation held a meeting on the source of international students at the Chinese National High School in Malacca, Malaysia. At the meeting, the delegation had discussion and exchange with Malaysian alumni once studying in Jiangsu Province and the local high school principals, and listened to their opinions and suggestions on the education of foreign students in Jiangsu Province. President Xing Weihong introduced the JSU's international education cooperation, overseas Chinese language education, and the situation of Malaysian students studying in China. Principal of Peifeng Middle School in Malaysia Huang Shelley, a partner of JSU, participated in the exchange.


On May 19, President Xing Weihong met with the Malaysia's Chief Minister of Malacca, Investment Adviser and Special Envoy to China, Datuk Lim Wan Feng, and Malacca education officials along with the Jiangsu Education delegation.

On May 19, the Jiangsu education delegation visited the Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia, and the Director of the International Department of the Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia, Rosmanizam Mohammed Narif, received the delegation and expressed his support for the cooperation between JSU and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and other friendly institutions.

On May 20, President Xing Weihong met with Executive President of the National University of Malaysia Prof. Adi Irfan Che Ani, to exchange views on the joint training of graduate students and joint scientific research of teachers, and promoted practical cooperation.




On May 20, President Xing Weihong visited UPM and met with Chairman of Putra University Holdings Group, and the former President of UPM Datuk Mohd Fauzi Bin Hj.Ramlan, Vice President of Student Affairs and Alumni Affairs of UPM Arifin Abdu, Vice President of Academic and Research Affairs of UPM Zamberi Sekawi, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture of UPM Loh Teck Chwen, and Director of the Innovation Center of UPM Samsilah Roslan, to coordinate and promote joint research in agricultural and machinery disciplines, joint training of graduate students, mutual visits between teachers and students, international technology transfer, and construction of international offshore learning centers.




On May 20, the "Jiangsu-Malaysia University Cooperation and Exchange Activity and Study in Jiangsu Exhibition" was held at the National University of Malaysia. The Governor of Jiangsu Provincial People's Government Xu Kunlin, Member of Parliament of Malaysia Chen Guowei, Chairman of the Council of Lords of Malaysia Datuk Seri Kairuddin Samad, Secretary-General of Jiangsu Provincial People's Government Lu Deming, President of Malaysian Education Exchange Association Ma Hanshun, and Advisor to the Minister of Plantation and Primary Industries of Malaysia Chen Yaozong, came to the booth of JSU. President Xing Weihong introduced the development of international talents in JSU to them, and had a cordial dialogue with the parents of the new students who would in China, and issued admission notices to the new students.

On May 21, the Jiangsu Education delegation visited Sihanouk Port Business School and Sihanouk Special Economic Zone, held discussions with Chinese funded enterprises in the park, and listened to the opinions and suggestions of "going out" enterprises on the demand for local technical and skilled talents, as well as the work of overseas education.

On May 22, the delegation held an event to support the construction of Cambodia's industrial development corridor and the entry of over 200 enterprises into the Xigang Special Zone. During the meeting, President Xing Weihong had friendly exchanges with the Chinese ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wenbin, the Director unit of the "the Belt and Road" International Talent Cultivation Industry and Learning Alliance of JSU, the assistant general manager of Sihanoukville Port Special Economic Zone Co., Ltd., and the head of the Human Resources Department Yu Peihong. She said that she would scale up the cultivation of customized talents, and cultivate applicable talents for transnational enterprises with "strong cross-cultural communication ability and strong adaptability to transnational positions".

On May 22, the delegation visited Duanhua School, the largest Chinese language education school outside of China, to assist in the establishment of Duanhua University. Through cooperation in the fields of academic Chinese, agricultural engineering, automotive and etc., especially in promoting the construction of overseas Chinese basic education system and conducting in-depth discussions with enterprises on the integration of "overseas Chinese plus international engineering" education.

On May 22, President Xing Weihong and her delegation exchanged ideas on the selection of scholarship sponsored students with Deputy Leader of the Working Group Chhoeun Raksmey for International Students of the Cambodian Prince and Madam Hun Sen Scholarship Association in China.

On May 22, President Xing Weihong and her delegation met with Vice President of the Royal Agricultural University of Cambodia Huon Thavrak and Vice President of the Royal Phnom Penh University of Cambodia Chen Haoqia.


On May 24, the "Jiangsu-ASEAN Countries Education Cooperation and Exchange Conference" was held at the Khmer-Chinese University of Applied Sciences in Cambodia. At the exchange meeting, JSU took the lead in launching the "Jiangsu-ASEAN Countries Youth Student Exchange Program" with Hohai University, Nanjing Forestry University and other Jiangsu universities and universities such as Universiti Putra Malaysia, Royal Institute of Technology of Cambodia, Hun Sen College of Public Works and Transportation in Cambodia, Tuanhua University in Cambodia, and Royal Institute of Technology in Tanaburi in Thailand. The program aims to improve long-term mechanisms such as exchange visits of experts and scholars, scholarships-funded exchange student mobility, trust fund projects, summer schools, etc., build a multi-dimensional people-to-people exchange network, and cultivate more ASEAN-China friendship envoys.

During the visit, President Xing Weihong also met with a volunteer under the International Chinese Education Volunteer Program of the Center for Language Exchange and Cooperation of China’s Ministry of Education. She is a graduate student of the School of Liberal Arts Dong Siqi and has been serving in the Chongzheng School in Phnom Penh, Cambodia for nine months. President Xing Weihong instructed Dong Siqi to combine work and rest, and encouraged her to work pragmatically and win glory for the country and JSU.
