Ambassador of the Independent State of Papua New Guinea in People's Republic of China visited JSU

On May 16, Rotating Chairman of the Pacific Island Ambassadors' Delegation and the Ambassador of the Independent State of Papua New Guinea in People's Republic of China H. E. Dr. Thaddeus Kambanei visited Jiangsu University (JSU). Secretary of the CPC Jiangsu University (JSU) Committee Li Hongbo and Vice President of JSU Prof. Cai Yingfeng met the Ambassador, accompanied by the leaders of the International Office, School of Physics and Electronic Engineering, School of Mechanical Engineering and School of Mathematical Sciences of JSU.


Secretary Li Hongbo delivered a welcome speech on behalf of JSU, introduced the university's discipline advantages and achievements in international development, and the cooperation with Pacific Island countries universities. He stated that the cooperation between China and the Independent State of Papua New Guinea has yielded fruitful results. JSU is willing to engage in practical cooperation and deepen exchanges with the Independent State of Papua New Guinea universities, and strengthen cooperation in education, scientific research, culture and other fields with Pacific island countries including Papua New Guinea, and promote win-win development under the "the Belt and Road" initiative. He looks forward to further expanding cooperation areas in student training, scholar visits, laboratory co-construction, industry cooperation, and other aspects in the future.

Ambassador H. E. Dr. Thaddeus Kambanei expressed his gratitude to JSU for cultivating numerous outstanding talents for the Independent State of Papua New Guinea. The Embassy of the Independent State of Papua New Guinea in China is willing to promote the strengthening of cooperation between the universities in Independent State of Papua New Guinea and JSU, deepen cooperation through exchanging scholars, increasing student exchange programs.


After the meeting, the delegation held the collaborative exchanges with School of Physics and Electronic Engineering, School of Mechanical Engineering and School of Mathematical Sciences of JSU on academic exchange programs, teacher and student exchange programs, accreditation (Standards and Guidelines) between JSU and the universities in Independent State of Papua New Guinea.

Besides, Ambassador H. E. Dr. Thaddeus Kambanei also met the international students from Pacific Island countries at JSU, and visited the School of Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Manufacturing.
