Ambassador of Myanmar to China and ASEAN-China Centre visited JSU

On April 30, the Ambassador of Myanmar in People's Republic of China H. E. U Tin Maung Swe and the delegation from ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) visited Jiangsu University (JSU). Secretary of the CPC Jiangsu University (JSU) Committee Li Hongbo and Vice President of JSU Prof. Cai Yingfeng met the delegation, accompanied by the Directors of the International Office and Institute for Global Development and Security of JSU.


Secretary Li Hongbo delivered a welcome speech on behalf of JSU, introduced the university's discipline advantages and achievements in international development, and the cooperation with ASEAN countries, especially Myanmar. He said that the cooperation between China and Myanmar has been fruitful, and JSU is willing to deepen cooperation with Myanmar and ASEAN countries in the fields of education, scientific research and culture, and promote win-win development under the Belt and Road Initiative. It is expected that in the future, through the joint establishment of laboratories and the exchange of scholars, we will further expand the fields of cooperation, enhance the level of cooperation, and make greater contributions to the friendly relations and common development of the two countries.

Ambassador H. E. U Tin Maung Swe expressed that Myanmar and China have close exchanges in various fields, especially in the humanities and education. He expressed his gratitude to JSU for cultivating numerous outstanding talents for Myanmar. The Embassy of Myanmar in People's Republic of China is willing to promote cooperation between Myanmar universities and JSU, deepen cooperation through co-building laboratories, exchanging scholars, and etc., and promote mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.

Secretary General of the ACC Shi Zhongjun emphasized that the ACC is willing to serve as a bridge and link, and is committed to deepening practical cooperation between China and ASEAN countries in various fields such as commerce, education, culture, and tourism in the long term. He pointed out that as a multilateral cooperation platform, ACC will fully support ASEAN countries, including Myanmar, in carrying out education cooperation, talent cultivation, and scientific research innovation with China. ACC is willing to provide platform support for the cooperation between JSU and ASEAN universities, and jointly promote regional sustainable development.


After the meeting, Ambassador H.E. Willy Bett met the Myanmar international students of JSU, and visited the Intelligent Agricultural Machinery Equipment Laboratory, JSU History Museum, and the Chinese Agricultural Machinery Culture Exhibition Hall.
