On March 19, the signing and unveiling ceremony of the Midea Group—Jiangsu University Advanced Fluid Machinery and Systems Unite Research Center (AFMS-URC) was held at Jiangsu University (JSU). Dean of the Kitchen and Hot Water Division Research Institute of Midea Group Mr. Peng Bo, and Vice President of JSU Prof. Li Hong attended the ceremony. The signing and unveiling ceremony was hosted by the Director of the Industry-University-Research Cooperation Department Prof. Wang Shaohua.
At the ceremony, Vice President Prof. Li Hong stated that the cooperation between JSU and Midea Group is a model of the deep integration of scientific research innovation and industrial application, and a pioneering attempt for the university-enterprise collaboration in organized scientific research. JSU will deepen cooperation in three dimensions: first, focusing on industrial technology innovation, carrying out core technology research and development around intelligent home appliances, high-efficiency energy-saving, and healthy water use; second, deepening the integration of industry and education, through joint university-enterprise courses, mutual employment of talents, and the co-construction of internship bases, to cultivate compound talents with both innovative and practical qualities; third, creating an open ecosystem, jointly applying for scientific research projects and awards, promoting technology standards and patent layout, and jointly building a benchmark for collaborative innovation in industry, academia, research, and application.
Mr. Peng Bo said that the establishment of AFMS-URC is the landing of the strong alliance between Midea Group and JSU, a positive practice of the company's innovation-driven development strategy, and high-quality productivity, marking a milestone. He hopes that both parties will rely on the platform of the research center to deepen the integration of industry and education, promote the development of industry-university-research cooperation, and further enhance the level of university-enterprise cooperation, bringing a profound impact on both parties' scientific and technological innovation and enterprise industrial upgrading.
Prof. Li Hong and Mr. Peng Bo jointly unveiled AFMS-URC, with Li Zhonghua from Midea Group and Dean of the School of Energy and Power Engineering Prof. Pan Jianfeng, representing the co-construction parties signing on the spot.
After the ceremony, both parties conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on scientific research cooperation, technological breakthroughs, talent cultivation, and other topics, offering strategies for the future planning and development of the center.
