Vice President Yang Daojian Leads Delegation to Visit Croatia and South Korea

From Dec. 8 to 15, Vice President of Jiangsu University (JSU) Prof. Yang Daojian led a delegation to visit Croatia and South Korea, meet with alumni, visit Chinese overseas institutions.


During the stay at the University of Split, Croatia, Vice President Igor Jerković warmly welcomed the delegation and introduced the history and development of the University of Split. He expressed his expectations for the cooperation between the two universities in promoting talent cultivation, scientific research cooperation, and mutual visits between teachers and students.



The delegation also had in-depth discussions with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture at the University of Split, and reached preliminary intentions to expand cooperation in fields such as energy engineering and food science engineering.


During their stay in Croatia, the delegation also visited the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Croatia, where Minister Counselor Wang Peng met with the delegation. Vice President Prof. Yang Daojian introduced the discipline development of JSU and the cooperation with Croatian universities. Minister Counselor Wang Peng introduced the development of Croatia from the aspects of science and technology, economy and trade, education, and culture, and encouraged JSU to deepen its ties with Croatian universities, strengthen cooperation in advantageous disciplines such as medicine, shipbuilding, and oceanography, and continuously enrich cooperation content and broaden cooperation forms.


During the visit to Gyeongsang National University, South Korea, Vice President Lee Byung hyun met with the delegation. In the meeting, the two sides affirmed the cooperation over the past eight years and looked forward to further expanding scientific research cooperation in the fields of vehicle engineering and autonomous driving. The delegation also hold a discussion with the students of JSU who are studying at Gyeongsang National University to learn about the students' study inSouth Korea and encourage them to study hard.


During their stay at Gwangju Future Automotive Mobility Institute, Dean Kim Sung-jin warmly welcomed the delegation. He gave a detailed introduction to the history of the development of Gwangju's automobile industry, the business content and future development direction of the institute, and expressed a strong desire to strengthen talent cultivation and technical cooperation with JSU. Both parties have reached a consensus on strengthening scientific research cooperation in the field of vehicle engineering in the future and signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation. After the meeting, Kim Sung-jin took the delegation to visit the laboratory.


During their stay in South Korea, the delegation also visited the Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Gwangju, where Consul General Gu Jingqi met with the delegation. Consul General Gu Jingqi introduced the basic situation of South Korea and the exchange and development of economic, cultural and other fields between China and South Korea. He encouraged JSU to continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with universities in South Korea and research institutes, and contribute to the promotion of China-South Korea friendship and people-to-people bonds.
This visit further enhanced the mutual understanding between JSU and the sister universities, deepened the mutual trust and friendship, and further expanded the international influence of JSU.
