Vice President Ren Xudong Leads Delegation to Visit Egypt and Ghana

From Dec. 2 to 9, Vice President of Jiangsu University (JSU) Prof. Ren Xudong led a delegation to visit partner universities in Egypt and Ghana, meet with alumni, visit Chinese overseas institutions.


When in Egypt, the delegation visit Pharos University in Alexandria, Vice President Prof. Mohamed Gaber Abou Ali warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed desire to establish cooperative relationship with JSU. The two sides fully exchanged views on the cooperation mode and feasibility between two universities in scientific research cooperation, joint training of talents, and short-term student exchanges. Additionally, the delegation visited the laboratories to learn about the basis for cooperation in joint scientific research.


While in Alexandria, the delegation visited the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Alexandria, where the delegation was met by Consul General Yang Yi. Vice President Ren Xudong briefly introduced the development achievements of JSU and the cooperation with Egyptian universities. Consul General Yang Yi introduced the economic, social and educational development of Egypt and the working model of Egyptian universities, and encouraged and supported JSU to strengthen cooperation with Egyptian universities and contribute to the construction of a China-Egypt community with a shared future in the new era.


During the visit in University of Cape Coast, Ghana, Vice President Rosemond Boohene meet the delegation. Both parties reviewed the long-term cooperation foundation and current achievements between two universities, further discussed the development direction of long-term cooperation, and reached an intention to continue to promote extensive cooperation.


AT University of Education, Winneba, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Jobson Mitchual meet the delegation. The two sides discussed the willingness and path of joint talent training, recommending outstanding students, and strengthening scientific research cooperation, and agreed to strengthen follow-up docking and continue to promote cooperation.


During the visit in Ghana, the delegation visited the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in The Republic of Ghana. Ambassador Tong Defa introduced in detail the development of Ghana and the cooperation with China, highly appreciated the cooperation between JSU and Ghanaian universities, and encouraged and fully supported the cooperation between JSU and Ghanaian universities. The delegation also visited the Ghana Chinese Chamber of Commerce (GCCC) to conduct in-depth discussions on topics such as such as foreign school enterprise cooperation models, order based talent cultivation, Ghana's social development situation, and the urgent need for talents, and reached the cooperation intention of continuously strengthening communication, mutual support and win-win results.


This visit further enhanced the mutual understanding between JSU and the sister universities, deepened the mutual trust and friendship, and further expanded the international influence of JSU.
