2024 Sino-American CHEPD 1+2+1 Program Presidents’ Forum Held at JSU

On June 19, the 2024 Sino-American CHEPD 1+2+1 Program Presidents’ Forum was held at Jiangsu University (JSU), with the theme of “Academic Collaboration and Partnerships Ensure Quality Program for Student Success”. The forum was chaired by Vice President of JSU Prof. Cai Yingfeng and more than 120 presidents and guests from 50 universities in China and the United States attended the forum. Secretary General of China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) Yang Jun, Deputy Director of Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges, Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China Chen Dali, Vice President of American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) Terry Brown, Director of Public Affairs Section of Consulate General of the United States of America in Shanghai Alicia Edwards, Second-level Inspector of Jiangsu Education Department Zhou Yajun, and Deputy Director of Foreign Affairs Office of Jiangsu Provincial People's Government Shen Yanfei delivered speeches at the opening ceremony.

Secretary of the CPC JSU Committee Prof. Li Hongbo, and President of University of Wisconsin-Stout Katherine Frank delivered keynote speeches.


The panel discussion was chaired by Provost and Academic Vice President of Salem State University David J. Silva and Vice President of Lanzhou University of Finance and Economics Hu Kai. Vice Provost of George Mason University Janet Moore, Vice Provost of Salem State University Julie Whitlow, Vice President of Jiangsu University of Technology Wang Jun, Senior Vice Chancellor of Troy University Sohail Agboatwala, Vice President of Nanfang College Guangzhou Liu Wenbin, and other distinguished guests had a lively discussion on topics such as establishing quality standards and evaluation systems for Sino-American CHEPD 1+2+1 Program, the value of two-way exchanges between Chinese and American students, the impact of international education on student achievement, mutual trust and sustainability in Sino American university partnerships, strengthening and expanding partnerships with new technologies in the new stage, and enriching content and creating more diverse cooperation models. The guests unanimously agreed that the Sino-American CHEPD 1+2+1 Program has high value, enhancing communication and mutual trust between China and the United States, promoting deeper understanding and friendship between the two countries, and jointly cultivating qualified global citizens.
