On May 21, Acting Secretary-General of the Lancang-Mekong Integrated Law Enforcement and Security Cooperation Center (LM-LECC) You Xiaowen led the delegation to visit Jiangsu University (JSU). Secretary of the CPC JSU Committee Prof. Li Hongbo met the delegation.
Secretary Li Hongbo extended a warm welcome to Acting Secretary-General You and his delegation, and gave them a brief introduction of the basic situation of JSU and the progress made in talents training, discipline construction, scientific research and internationalization in recent years. Acting Secretary-General You introduced LM-LECC and the related work carried out in the past 8 years. The two sides had in-depth discussions about compiling reports of crime in the Lancang-Mekong region, the training of students from Myanmar, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam in China and the internship of talents in international organizations.
Lancang-Mekong Cooperation(LMC) is a new sub-regional cooperation mechanism featuring extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits among China, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam. Under the framework of LMC, LM-LECC provides high-quality capacity building projects in accordance with the needs of law enforcement agencies of member countries, jointly improving law enforcement capacity and standard to effectively safeguard the security of people's lives and property in the Greater Mekong Subregion.Relevant leaders fromInstitute for Global Development and Security, International Office, and Overseas Education College attended the meeting.
