A Delegation of Academicians from the European Academy of Sciences Visits JSU

On May 21, President of the Academy of European Sciences, Academician of the European Academy of Sciences, and Academician of the Portuguese Academy of Engineering Prof. Rodrigo Martins led a delegation to visit Jiangsu University (JSU).



Vice-President of the European Academy of Sciences, Academician of the European Academy of Sciences, Research Director (Honorary) of the French National Academy of Sciences (CNRS) Prof. Alain Tressaud, Academician of the European Academy of Sciences, Academician of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, Chief Professor of Southeast University, Dean and Chief Scientist of the Institute of Intelligent Materials of Southeast University Prof. Li Quan, Academician of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences Prof. Kasper Moth-Poulsen, Professors from Portugal, France, Sweden, the United States, the United Kingdom, Belgium, and Japan, as well as editors and deputy editors of international academic journals accompanied the visit.



Secretary of the CPC JSU Committee Prof. Li Hongbo, and Vice President Prof. Wang Jingquan met the delegation. Personnel from the Office of the President, Leaders form the Preident Office,Discipline Construction and Planning Development Office, International Office, School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Materials Science and Engineering, and School of Physics and Electronic Engineering attended the meeting.

Vice President Wang Jingquan, on behalf of JSU, welcomed Prof. Rodrigo Martins and his delegation and briefly introduced the development history, discipline characteristics, scientific research achievements, and international cooperation and exchanges with European and American countries, and especially elaborated on the same roots of JSU and Southeast University. He said that JSU has always adhered to the concept of openness and cooperation, and is committed to establishing extensive cooperative relations with first-class universities and research institutions at home and abroad to jointly promote academic progress and scientific and technological innovation. At the same time, he also invited academicians and experts from the European Academy of Sciences to come to JSU for academic exchanges and visits to gain an in-depth understanding of the discipline characteristics and scientific research strength of JSU.

Prof. Rodrigo Martins highly praised the educational achievements and academic strength of JSU. He stated that the European Academy of Sciences has been committed to promoting international academic exchange and cooperation, and is full of expectations for establishing a cooperative relationship with JSU. He emphasized that both sides can engage in in-depth cooperation in multiple fields such as scientific research, talent cultivation, and academic exchanges, and jointly promote academic innovation and development.

Prof. Li Quan expressed his gratitude for the careful arrangement of JSU and looked forward to the positive role of the cooperation among the three parties in promoting international academic exchange and cooperation, and promoting academic development in related fields.



After the meeting, the delegation held one-to-one discussions and exchanges with relevant professional teams from School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Materials Science and Engineering, School of Physics and Electronic Engineering.
