JSU Delegation Visits Japan and Singapore

From March 28 to April 4, Vice President of Jingsu University (JSU) Prof. Wang Jingquan led a delegation to Japan and Singapore to visit Kobe University, Hiroshima University, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore University of Science and Technology and Design and China's embassies abroad, and carry out the deepening of international cooperation, the signing of bilateral agreements, and the recruitment of high-level talents.

During the stay in Japan, Executive Vice President (Global Initiatives) of Hiroshima University Prof. Kaneko Shinji, and Director of International Affairs Division of Hiroshima University Prof. Tsuzuki Satoshi met and discussed with the delegation on the basis of the existing bilateral cooperation agreement to further expand the cooperation contents of talent cultivation and recruitment of high-level talents in the fields of engineering and education. Executive Assistant to the President and Director of Research Center for Membrane and Film Technology of Kobe University Prof. Hideto Matsuyama, exchanged with JSU delegation, accompanied them to visit the laboratory, and reached an agreement about a joint postdoctoral and doctoral program in the field of chemical engineering and other fields, and to strengthen the international scientific research cooperation. In addition, JSU delegation went to the Education Office of China's Embassy in Japan for exchanges. Minister-counselor Du Kewei and Counselor Guo Jun met with JSU delegation, and Vice President Wang Jingquan introduced the development of JSU in recent years and the cooperation with Japanese universities, etc.. Minister-counselor Du Kewei offered suggestions on how to deepen the exchange and cooperation between JSU and Japanese universities. The delegation also paid a visit to Former Vice President of Saitama Institute of Technology and foreign academician of the Engineering Academy of Japan Ju Dongying, and other famous scholars and alumni in Tokyo.



During the stay in Singapore, Academician of the Academy of Engineering, Singapore and president of Nanyang Environment and Water Research Institute Wang Rong, Academician of the Academy of Engineering, Singapore, director of Urban Countermeasures Research Center of Nanyang Technological University and dean of School of Civil Engineering and Environmental Studies of Nanyang Technological University Chu Jian, exchanged with JSU delegation, accompanied them to visit the laboratories, and reached consensus on the continuous deepening of the cooperation between the two universities in the recruitment of high-level talents in related disciplines, academic exchanges, exchange of visits between students and teachers, and other areas. Vice President of Singapore University of Technology and Design Mr. Hong Liqi, and Dean of Graduate School of Singapore University of Technology and Design Mr. Liang Jiexiong, met with JSU delegation and exchanged views on joint cultivation of postgraduate students, exchange of faculty visits, cross-disciplinary academic cooperation, etc., and signed a cooperation agreement. In addition, JSU delegation went to Chinas Embassy in Singapore for exchanges. Ambassador Cao Zhongming and Minister-counselor Han Jun introduced Singapore's education system and China-Singapore education exchanges and cooperation to JSU delegation, and proposed suggestions on promoting the cooperation between JSU and Singaporean universities.



During the visit, JSU delegation held three JSU 2024 International Exchange Talks and Global Talent Attraction Presentations at Hiroshima University, University of Tokyo and Nanyang Technological University, which attracted more than 200 talents to pay attention to the consultation and more than 120 talents to participate in on-site exchanges. In his recruitment speech, Vice President Wang Jingquan introduced JSUs talent attraction and nurturing policies, as well as the available resources and benefits to the young scholars present. He emphasized JSU's longstanding focus on talent development, continual improvement of talent attraction and nurturing systems, and dedication to creating a favorable environment for talent development. He sincerely welcomed the participation of young talents to join JSU.
