On March 27, the launching ceremony of Jiangsu University (JSU) 2024 University Student Overseas Study and Education Exchange Week and on-site consultation were held. The event garnered the attention and participation of over 400 teachers and students, as well as representatives from 36 foreign universities and companies offering overseas education service.
Vice President Ren Xudong and Vice President Cai Yingfeng of JSU, Deputy Director of Jiangsu Provincial Educational International Exchange Service Center Yan Yujun, and Deputy General Manager of the International Education and Training Division of New Oriental Education & Technology Group Li Huan attended the launching ceremony. The event was chaired by Director of JSU International Office Cui Yong.
Vice President Cai Yingfeng delivered a welcoming speech, stating that the organization of the Overseas Study and Education Exchange Week is an important measure for JSU to implement the national strategy of internationalizing education. It is a significant approach for the university to enhance talents cultivation quality and promote the university’s quality development. She encouraged faculty and students to actively participate in overseas exchange activities, continuously improving their international literacy and comprehensive abilities.
Deputy Director Yan Yujun highly praised the achievements of JSU in internationalizing education, pointing out that overseas study and educational exchange are of great significance in cultivating talents with international perspectives and innovative abilities. He expressed the hope that JSU would continue to deepen cooperation and exchange with overseas universities, making positive contributions to the cultivation of more outstanding talents.
During the session featuring the achievements of outstanding overseas students, Ding Yixiang, excelling in overseas programs, and Liu Jia, achieving high scores in the IELTS exam, shared their experiences and insights into studying abroad and language acquisition. Director of the Future Study Abroad UK Graduate Department at New Oriental Liu Yubei, analyzed the big data of studying abroad, providing faculty and students with information on trends, popular majors and employment prospect. This insightful session helped attendees gain a better understanding of the study abroad and plan their academic journeys effectively.
On behalf of JSU, Director of Student Affairs Office Ren Zezhong, awarded a licence to Li Huan to establish an international talent innovation and practice base. Vice President Ren Xudong announced the official launching of JSU 2024 University Student Overseas Study and Education Exchange Week.
In the on-site consultation session, representatives offered consultation and services on overseas study, cultural exchange, internships, and employment. An exhibition of overseas students’ achievements in academia, entrepreneurship and their overseas experiences was also held, further igniting the enthusiasm of overseas students from China to return to China and contribute to their motherland.
