On October 27, Executive Vice President and Provost of Wayne State University Prof. Mark Kornbluh, and Associate Vice President of Wayne State University Prof. Huajing Maske, visited Jiangsu University (JSU). Secretary of the CPC Jiangsu University (JSU) Committee Prof. Li Hongbo met the delegation, and Vice President Cai Yingfeng hosted the cooperation meeting.
During the meeting, Prof. Li Hongbo extended a warm welcome to Prof. Mark Kornbluh and his delegation. He fully affirmed the fruitful achievements made by the two universities in the past decade in scientific research cooperation, joint talent cultivation, teacher exchanges, etc. Prof. Li Hongbo also expressed his anticipation for further accelerating the declaration of cooperative educational institutions for both sides and promoting the cooperation between the two universities to a deeper level and a wider field. Prof. Mark Kornbluh expressed his gratitude to JSU for the long-standing close cooperation with Wayne State University. He pointed out that Wayne State University cherishes the cooperation with JSU, and believes that with the joint efforts of both sides, new landmark cooperation results will be achieved.
After the meeting, Vice President Cai Yingfeng and the delegation had an in-depth discussion on the important issues in the declaration of Chinese mainland-based cooperative educational institutions. The delegation also visited School of Automotive and Traffic Engineering and met with the outstanding alumni of Wayne State University working at JSU. In the meantime, they had a meeting with JSU’s students.
Wayne State University was founded in 1868, and its Engineering College enjoys a high reputation in the U.S. The cooperation between JSU and Wayne State University started in 2007, and the two sides have carried out cooperation, including Transfer Student Program and Dual Master Program, as well as the Sino-US International Joint Laboratory of New Energy Vehicles and Intelligent Transportation Systems.
