On Oct 23rd, the delegation of Korea University led by the Academician of the Korean Academy of Science and Technology Prof. Yowhan Son, the Chair of Environmental Ecological Engineering Department in School of Life Sciences and the Director of of BK21 Environmental Science and Engineering Research & Education Group Prof. Jinho Jung visited Jiangsu University (JSU). Vice President of JSU Prof. Li Hong met the delegation. Leaders of International Office and the School of Environment and Safety Engineering attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Prof. Li Hong pointed out that Korea University is an important partner of JSU. Reviewing the achievements of communication and cooperation between the two universities over the years, Prof. Li Hong detailed the history of JSU and the new progress made in talent cultivation, discipline construction, scientific research and international cooperation in recent years. She expressed the good will to cooperate with Korea University to carry out joint research projects between the Chinese and Korean governments as well as to organize international academic seminars and other multi-disciplinary and all-round cooperation and communication. It was stressed at the meeting that it is necessary to gradually carry out wider and deeper communication and cooperation and to realize mutually complementary advantages in the future. Therefore, both of the two universities could improve the quality of cooperation and deepen the inter-university exchange.
Academician Yowhan Son spoke high of the results of cooperation between JSU and Korea University over the years. He detailed the history, subjects, teaching resources and other basic information of Korea University and its achievements in scientific research, talent cultivation and discipline construction, etc. Academician Yowhan Son expressed his gratification and expectation to sign MOU with the School of Environment and Safety Engineering of JSU. He also hoped that the future cooperation between the two universities could be deepened and reach a new height. Besides, Prof. Jinho Jung expressed that Korea University quite cherishes its friendly relationship with JSU and introduced the Korean BK21 project, which is a program to develop the Korean universities into world-class ones. Prof. Jinho Jung put forward his idea on how the two sides give full play to the advantages and rationally utilize the special fund of Korean BK21 to carry out international scientific collaboration, academic visit and talent cultivation. Simultaneously, he hoped that more students from JSU would go to Korea University for further study in the future. He also expressed his sincere expectation that the cooperation and communication between two universities could be expanded and deepened in various fields and thus make more high-quality results of international cooperation.
