JSU Committee Chair, Professor Yuan Shouqi Led a Delegation to Russia and the Netherlands for Academic Exchange

     From May 9th to 16th, Professor Yuan Shouqi, JSU Committee Chair, headed a delegation to visit N.P. Ogarev Mordovia State University (MRSU), the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) and the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in the Netherlands. The other delegates were Prof. Jin Lifu, Director of Publicity Department, Prof. Yuan Jianping, Director of Research Center of the Fluid Machinery Engineering and Technology, and Associate Prof. Huang Ting, Deputy Director of International office.  Prof. Yuan Shouqi and Prof. Yuan Jianping are experts in the filed of fluid machinery and engineering while Prof. Jin Lifu and Associate Prof. Huang Ting are experts in the field of management.

    Located in Saransk, the Republic of Mordovia, Russia, MRSU was founded in 1957. It is a remarkable place of higher education, research and culture in Russia due to its teaching and research level. Outstanding contributions in the field of innovation and innovation were awarded by the Russian government as "National Research-Focused Universities" (29th in all Russia) and ranked 6th in the evaluation of the quality assurance system for competitive training of national universities in Russia. With 9 departments and 7 research centers, there are nearly 24,000 students and more than 1,700 teachers. The delegation held discussions with MRSU’s President, Prof. Sergey M. Vdovin, Vice president and the International Office representatives. Both parties introduced their respective historical developments, overall conditions, scientific research advantages, international cooperation, etc., and renewed the cooperation agreement between the two universities, where new proposals were added about conducting a joint Master’s program in thermal energy and power engineering, Bachelor plus Master degree program in economics and management, and promoting the selection of teachers to support the construction of the Chinese Language and Culture Center.

 

     TU/e was founded in 1956 and it is one of the prestigious polytechnic universities in the Netherlands and Europe. It ranks 177th among world universities in 2016-2017. There are 9 schools, more than 12,000 students and nearly 3,300 teachers. Professor Ton Backx, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the university, leaders of the School of Engineering and International Affairs, and other relevant representatives reached consensus with the JSU delegation, on the joint Masters and Doctors programs and research cooperation among teahcers in the areas of machinery, automobiles, fluids, management (industrial engineering and innovation). Subsequently, our delegation visited the university’s modern on laboratories robotics, racing, and etc.

 

     TU Delft, was founded in 1942, and it is the oldest and most comprehensive polytechnic university in the country. The IDEA alliance with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich, the Aachen University of Technology in Germany, and the Chalmers University in Sweden is known as the "Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Europe". There are 8 schools, more than 17,000 students and nearly 2500 teachers. The delegation discussed with the university on the exchange and cooperation between two universities’ teachers and students in the fields of fluid machinery, water resources management, management and science and technology.
