Jinshan Scholars Program

In order to attain the strategic objective of “building a high-level, research-oriented international university with distinctive features," Jiangsu University puts forward the "Jinshan Scholars Program."The main treatment for overseas talents is as follows:

(1) A foreign academician of a developed country.

JSU has exceptional support and a case-by-case arrangement to recruit talents for this category.

Housing: We will provide a detached villa of about 300 square meters and a setting-in allowance of CNY 1,000,000.

(2)A (tenured) professor or the equivalent of an overseas college or university ranking top 300 internationally; or a (tenured) associate professor or an equivalent of an overseas college or university ranking top 200 internationally; or a talent achieving outstanding achievements in the field of their subject and having a lofty international academic status. The recruited talents shall be, in principle, under 50 years of age. A talent much needed for the discipline development of the University may be under 55 years of age.

Housing: A house of about 130 square meters with the property right, or a housing subsidy of CNY 1,300,000.

Research Funds: More than CNY 5,000,000 for talent in natural sciences, or more than CNY 1,200,000 for talent in humanities or social sciences.

(3)A (tenured) associate professor or above or an equivalent of an overseas college or university ranking top 300 internationally; or a talent achieving exceptional achievements in their subject and having a high international academic status. The recruited talents shall be, in principle, under 45 years of age.

Housing: A house about 120 square meters with the property right or a housing subsidy of CNY 1,100,000.Research Funds: More than CNY 3,000,000 for talent in natural sciences, or more than CNY 800,000 for talent in humanities or social sciences.

(4) An assistant professor or above or an equivalent of an overseas college or university ranking top 300 internationally with three years of overseas research work experiences; or a talent achieving remarkable achievements in their subject and have been recognized by international academic peers. The recruited talents shall be, in principle, under 40 years of age.

Housing: A housing subsidy of CNY 900,000.

Research Funds: CNY 1,000,000 for talent in natural sciences, or CNY 400,000 for talent in humanities or social sciences.

(5) A Ph.D. of an overseas college or university ranking top 300 internationally, or a talent who (has) worked for more than three years in an overseas postdoctoral research station; or a talent who has published a number of papers in their academic field in top international periodicals and has achieved a landmark achievement in their discipline. The recruited talents shall be, in principle, under 35 years of age.

Housing: A housing subsidy of CNY 500,000.

Research Funds: CNY 400,000 for talent in natural sciences, or CNY 150,000 for talent in humanities or social sciences.

Jiangsu University offers a generous salary, which shall be based on the school policy when signing the agreement. The recruited talents that will meet the requirements of related regulations of the Chinese government shall enjoy the status of public institution staff. The world rankings above refer to any of the latest rankings of Times, USNEWS, QS, and ARWU.
