The 2nd Int’l Conference on Advanced Materials successfully held in JU

May 16 to 19, the Second International Conference on Advanced Materials (AM2013) was successfully held in Jiangsu University. More than 100 hundred scholars from the United States, Canada, Britain, Germany and other 27 countries and regions as well as representatives from Tsinghua University, Peking University and other universities and research institutes in mainland China attended the conference. The opening ceremony of the conference was held in the small auditorium of JU. On behalf of the organizer of this conference, President of Jiangsu University, research professor Yuan Shouqi, gave a warm welcome to experts and scholars attending this conference and a brief introduction of Jiangsu University. On the opening ceremony, professor Cheng Xiaonong, Jiangsu University vice president and chair of this conference, professors Alaa Abd-El-Aziz and Sergey A Piletsky, chairman and vice-chairman of the Institute for Advanced Materials International, gave opening addresses respectively. After the opening ceremony, professor Sergey A Piletsky from Cranfield University (England) and professor Ian Manners from University of Bristol made wonderful keynote speeches of the conference respectively. May 17-19, more than 260 academic lectures were held by the organizers at 10 branch venues. During the conference, preparatory meeting for the 2014 Eighth International Annual Convention of Molecularly Imprinting (MIP) and Chinese Institute of Advanced Materials Society (JCAMS) Editorial Board Meeting were held. On behalf of Jiangsu University, vice president Cheng Xiaonong appointed seven famous scholars from home and abroad, including Joaquim Carneiro, part-time professors of Jiangsu University.
