October 16, Professor Louis Gosselin at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Laval University of Canada gave an academic presentation in the 3rd Lecture Hall of the International Meeting Center in Jiangsu University entitled “The modeling and optimization of the heat transfer and energy systems”.

At first, Mr. Yang Jingjiang, Party Secretary of the Research Center for Fluid Machinery Engineering and Technology gave a brief introduction to Professor Louis Gosselin, who then detailed his recent research achievements, mainly concerning the modeling and optimization of energy systems and heat transfer and mainly for the students and researchers in the field of thermal energy and fluid machinery. Professor Gosselin’s report gave, from the perspectives of both theory and practice, a comprehensive review of related energy systems and equipment, including geothermal power station, ground source heat pump, solid/liquid phase change, waste heat recycling, HVAC energy saving and the production process optimization of primary aluminum. After the report was over, Professor Louis Gosselin went into profound discussions with the audience and answered their questions enthusiastically.

Professor Louis Gosselin is now working at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Laval University of Canada, whose main research orientation is modeling, simulation and optimization of heat transfer and energy systems. He joins several research programs, acts as peer reviewer of a number of conferences and periodicals and has won many an award for teaching and research work.
