2014 SPIED held in JSU

August 17-30, the 2nd China-Japan-South Korea SPIED (The Summer Program on Innovative Engineering Design) was held in Jiangsu University, attended by more than 70 professors and students from Yamaguchi University of Japan, Kunshan National University, Seoul City University, and Chungbuk University of South Korea, and Dalian University of Technology, Xihua University, Chongqing University, Nanjing Arts Institute, and Jiangsu University of China. On August 18, President Yuan Shouqi of Jiangsu University and Vice President Fusanori Miura of Yamaguchi University attended and spoke at the opening ceremony held in the 1st Lecture Hall of the International Meeting Center.

During the period of this summer program, students from China, Japan and South Korea participated in the innovative thinking training and brainstorming activity, acquainted themselves with multi-disciplinary knowledge about machinery, electronics, robot control, etc., and developed some innovative products with good scalability, future development value and market potential by using the Fischer (Explorer) Robot Platform.

At the closing ceremony held at August 28, Vice President Song Yuqing of Jiangsu University passed the program flag to the representative of Yamaguchi University, the next host of the SPIED.

The SPIED is an international teaching platform jointly initiated and established by Jiangsu University and Yamaguchi University with the purpose of promoting the innovative ability of engineering students, exploring the joint international training of master and doctoral candidates. It is the first international teaching program for the practice of engineering students established jointly by Jiangsu University and Yamaguchi University.
